Let it All Go and Come Back to Your SELF

Being present, grounded, connected, embodied...what does that all mean?

Do you feel at ease in your body...free from tension, stress, pain? Or are you using up extra energy holding on to worries, anxieties and tension patterns that won't seem to release?

It is so important to be able to slow down and take the time to be aware of how we are feeling, thinking, acting and doing.

In order to feel whole, we must stay connected with ourselves...or at least have the awareness to realize when we need to take a break and reestablish that feeling of comfortably being in our bodies, working together with our minds and fully embodying our own personal energetic signature...our spirit.

Taking that break can help us reconnect, reenergize and reinvigorate to face life with full intuition, positivity and in the flow.

Are you regularly making sure to come back to your whole SELF while checking in to make sure that you are not holding on to anything that doesn't serve you?

It isn't always easy and definitely takes regular practice and focus to come back to our selves while listening to our hearts and souls...finding out what we truly want and also what we need.

Oftentimes, we hold on to emotions and memories in our muscles and tissues that create tension in our bodies. Two of my favorite sayings are the 'the issues are in the tissues' and 'our biography becomes our biology' and in my experience they are both so true.

It may take physical movement, energy work, breath work and bodywork in order to help release these stuck patterns and to be able to live and move freely. It can sound simple. but these practices can be so profound.

The Importance of Listening to What Your Body Needs

Have you ever felt that feeling when you are in your head busy with thoughts and activities for so long that you start to feel completely disconnected from your body? Are you feeling a little off kilter or out of balance lately?

Maybe your body is feeling stiff or achy. Or, maybe you are feeling overwhelmed, and the stress is causing you to not sleep as well, and you have brain fog during the day. Maybe you are feeling lonely, sad or blue and can't seem to shake the funk.

We all experience this from time to time and that is why it is SO important to schedule time for to come back to your Self and reconnect with your body, mind and soul.

Then you can emerge back into the world with a renewed connection to your sense of purpose and with what drives you all while feeling a solid sense of being grounded and free from tension to move your body with ease.

You may find that giving your SELF some time, energy and space to focus on what matters most...your health, happiness and vitality, will help to shift your energy into a more positive state. This is where healing happens.

Here are some ideas for activities that can help you start to make the shift:

  • Take a walk in nature while focusing on the sights and sounds around you.

  • Focus on deep breathing for 5 minutes.

  • Do some gentle stretching, yoga or QiGong.

  • Soak in an Epsom salt bath while listening to soothing music.

  • Receive an acupuncture, massage, reflexology, facial or sound healing treatment.

Our bodies have an amazing capacity to heal when we listen to what we need and when we give ourselves the energy, attention, time, space and support to do so.

I have been a massage therapist for almost 14 years and have massaged thousands of clients. I know how powerful massage therapy is in supporting my clients to help let it all go. They become more present within their bodies so that the mind can be at ease and their true essence, their soul energy can shine.

Getting regular massage can help you stay centered, grounded, clear and focused when you are free from tension and your energy opens you up to limitless possibilities.

I am always so grateful, with every massage that I do, to be able to use my hands to connect, to relieve tension and pain, to bring a sense of wholeness and to allow my clients to get off the table and walk back out and face the world with a sense of calm and infused with positive energy.
